Reporting and taking part
Do people need an app or an account to submit a report?
No. A QR code or link opens the form directly in the browser. Residents, staff and tenants can submit a report without installing an app or creating an account.
More detailsCan someone submit a report without a QR code?
Yes. The form can also be opened through a link. An address and map pin identify the location; a QR code on the asset can prefill its saved location and the link to the asset.
More detailsCan a QR code show information before someone reports an issue?
Yes. A QR code can open the public asset page. Visitors see its name, description, responsible departments and approved images. You can share playground guidance or construction project information, for example. An action on that page opens a report linked to the same asset.
More detailsDo we need to replace the QR code when information changes?
No. As long as the asset and QR code remain active, the existing code continues to lead to the same asset. Your team can maintain its description and images in the platform. Updated information appears the next time the page is opened, without reprinting the sign.
More detailsCan we choose what appears after a scan?
Yes. A QR code can open the asset page, go straight to a report or offer a choice between the two. A construction-site sign can start with information, while a label on equipment can lead directly to reporting.
More detailsAre photos and contact details required?
No. Both are optional. A photo often helps the team understand the problem; contact details allow follow-up questions or notifications when needed.
More detailsHow do people find out what happens to their report?
After submission, they receive a confirmation with a private link. They can use it to follow progress or withdraw their report. Email notifications can also be used when the relevant contact details have been provided.
More detailsWhich languages does Power Local support?
The platform supports German, French, Italian and English. This website is available in German, French and English. Your team’s own text and asset descriptions appear in the language in which they are written.
Working together
Is Power Local suitable for a small team?
Yes. Start with the scope your team needs for everyday work. Modules such as tasks, inventory and files can be enabled for each installation. There are no per-user fees.
Does Power Local also suit forestry operations, schools or property management?
Yes, wherever a team looks after objects in fixed places and receives reports about them. Besides municipalities and public works, that includes schools and sports grounds, properties and caretaking, playgrounds and construction sites, and also forestry operations or cemeteries. A QR code on the object opens its page or the report directly, and the report reaches the team in charge. Reporting needs an internet connection; for places without mobile coverage we clarify this beforehand.
Can we create our own tasks without a public report?
Yes. The team can create internal tasks directly, assign them to a person and set a due date. They are organised in the same workspace as incoming reports.
What about issues that still come in by phone or email?
Staff can enter these issues in the platform themselves. Responsibility, status, comments and subsequent work then follow the same workflow. This does not imply an automatic import from an email inbox.
Can equipment and facilities be linked to reports?
Yes. Inventory assets can have their own QR labels. A report started from a label retains its link to the asset; linked reports and tasks remain accessible from that asset's entry. The inventory also supports recording check-outs and returns.
Can we inspect playgrounds, vehicles or facilities with a checklist?
Yes. Per category you set a checklist and its rhythm, for example every three months; a single asset can have its own list. A due checklist appears as a report on the board. Authorised staff scan the QR code on the asset and fill it in on site; a defect becomes a report on the asset straight away. A completed checklist is never changed again and stays in the history of the asset as proof. The public does not see it.
Where do we keep plans, manuals and other documents?
The file module provides folders, file versions and a recycle bin. Relevant documents can be linked to reports or tasks. Roles control which folders each person can see.
Getting started and running the platform
Where is our data stored?
Your data is hosted by the agreed provider. Before setup, we clarify the hosting location, backups and responsibilities for ongoing operation.
Can different teams have different access?
Yes. Roles and individual permissions can be managed, while departments reflect who is responsible for the work. You can decide who may handle reports, manage inventory or view particular folders.
How is our data protected in Power Local?
Access to reports and files is restricted to authorised people. Encrypted connections protect data in transit. Access rights and retention periods are defined for your organisation; we discuss privacy and security requirements with you in advance.
Can we use our own logo and workflows?
Yes. The logo, colours, map area and legal texts are installation settings. Categories, departments and responsibilities are also adapted to your organisation.
How does the rollout work?
First, we clarify your workflows, the teams involved and the scope you need. Standard setup covers installation, your logo, colours and basic configuration. Data migration, team introductions or training, and custom adaptations are scoped and charged separately according to the work involved.
How are the costs calculated?
The annual licence per installation costs CHF 1,188 for Compact and CHF 2,388 for Together. This is equivalent to CHF 99 or CHF 199 per month when billed annually. One-time standard setup starts at CHF 490 or CHF 990, respectively. Larger scopes receive a custom quote. Prices exclude VAT, billed annually in advance, hosting separate. All current modules, including checklists, and unlimited users and reports are included. For municipalities with 5,001 to 8,000 residents: CHF 1,188 plus CHF 0.40 per additional resident per year.
Analytics and future development
Are analytics and key metrics already available?
Yes. The KPI dashboard is part of the platform. It shows new and resolved reports, response and resolution times, and breakdowns by category or department. What the figures can tell you depends on the data recorded; missing timestamps are identified.
Is single sign-on or integration with other systems available?
Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on and a read-only API for reports and inventory are on the roadmap. They are not presented here as standard features that are already available. Requirements involving existing specialist systems should be discussed during project planning.
Can the team work without an internet connection?
The current platform requires an internet connection. Offline capture with later synchronisation is a possible extension that would need to be planned separately. It is not currently included as standard.
